Bursary Scheme
Since 1995, our bursary scheme has provided assistance to high-potential learners for continuing education at tertiary institutions.
As a manufacturing company, the majority of our bursaries are allocated to learners studying towards degrees in accounting, engineering and science. Every effort is made to offer employment to talented graduates.
A total of 88 bursaries have been awarded since 2006 alone.
Partner Schools
Our partner schools programme began in 2002. Currently, we have seven partner schools in all the major centres of Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria. They are located in close proximity to our manufacturing plants. In this way, many of our employees’ children benefit from our involvement.
Each school receives R500 000 from Nampak annually. Funds are allocated to specific projects, such as:
- upgrading administrative infrastructure, eg photocopy machines, teaching aids, security, etc
- improving teacher qualifications
- building and equipping computer centres, science laboratories and libraries, including the employment of qualified, full-time librarians
- developing sports facilities
- initiating environmental projects.
In addition, we provide bursaries to the top three grade 12 learners in accounting, maths and science.
